I'm a lefty and insterested in a 7mm-08--please don't laugh.

Primary use is whitetail and would like to eventually be able to hand this down to my son so recoil is a consideration.

Wish list is 22' stainless barrell, 1-9.5 twist, composite stock. Here is what I have found out:

Savage - I shoot and enjoy several Savages and all is perfect with their Model 16 except twist is 1-11.5 (Model 16 and 11). I know this has been covered in various places and am not comfortable with this rate.

Remington - Compact is available, hollow stock, short (20") barrell--have shot this gun, more recoil than I would prefer

Ruger - Wood stock

Browning - Wood stock, micro build probably too light.

Tika - Quit importing.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Browning BLR. Lever actions are ambidextrous. Just posted a picture and story of my first elk hunt with one.
