Help - 30 Nosler build

Ton of good data here ^^^

I ran a ladder with n570 and it was bad dirty, didn't like that at all so abandoned it right after a ladder. Went to H1000 and shooting the lower 83ish load…22" barrel suppressed and less than 100 rounds in it, 2900fps. I can't think of anything that I'd be worried about being able to go far after absorbing one.

What's everyone's preferred powder for the 30 Nosler? I have 50 150gr interlocks I put together with Magpro for barrel break in. After that I was going to play with H1000, STAB HD, Ramshot LRT, US869, and maybe Retumbo. I was curious about Hybrid 100 too. I have a pound but yet to use it on anything. I have alittle bit of Ramshot Magnum but have found Magpro always out shoots it for some reason so I quit buying it.
I'm actually running h4350 with 124 hammer hunters at 3670fps.

He is going Weatherby speeds on us with 3670. The wound probably cauterized itself like being hit with a light saber.
As fast as that is, it's likely got even more room to go. I had the 137 Hammer hunters over 3800 fps with H4350 in a 24" 300 WM. In a 30 Nosler I'd bet you could get the 124's near or over 4,000 fps, but you'd need to have room to get them further away from the lands. Quite a laser, and when impact velocity is above 3,000 fps, the trauma inside the chest cavity is intense, with minimal meat loss. It's a good, function specific option for short to mid range IMO. Apologies for the derail.

I have got to know have you shot anything with those at that speed and did it vaporize?
I was half expecting that very result when I shot a whitetail doe with a 124 HH at a little over 3800 fps out of a 300 RUM. She ran and disappeared in the grass. I found her about 50 yards away. The results were just as described by @JTH. The exit hole was not too big but a bunch of lung bits were on the brush that was behind where she was standing at the shot. The chest cavity was soup. It amazes me how an animal can move after such trauma.

Back to the 30 Nosler. I had another Remington 700 in 300 RUM rebarreled to a long throated 30 Nosler (.263 freebore for 230s because that is the reamer Jon Beanland had). I could get about 3.690 COAL with my RUM but I added the Wyatt's cut to the work order. I started with 230 OTMs because I couldn't find 230 HTs. My COAL ended up at little under 3.600. Once I found 230 HTs, I am just a hair longer. The rifle also shoots 199 HHs well and they also would have fit in the factory mag box.

I am using ADG brass, RL26, and Federal 215M primers. I have a 24" barrel and I am getting about 2890 fps with the 230s and 3090 with the 199s.

I wish I could get my hands on R26 but I can never find it. I got a restocked message from Brownells one time several months ago but I was too late. And am certainly not paying the ridiculous prices a couple guys are selling it for on gunbroker. So H1000 has been my go to powder for 6.5 PRC, 7 SAUM, 6.8 Western, 7 Rem Mag and even 280 AI. It gives beautiful SDs and respectable velocity. I thought it would be good in my 270 WSM too but no dice.

That would be great if you could find RL26.
I use it in my 30 with 205 elites and it's been amazing . I'm having a second 30 nosler built right now that hopefully will shoot the 215 bergers
Here my first 30 nosler at 200 yards 3 shots with ADG brass ,RL26 , fed 215

My reamer is 0.170" freebore. I tightened up the neck diameter, and the freebore diameter.

I set my freebore for a Berger 210 VLDH bullet. If I were to go longer on the freebore it would only be if I were shooting a longer bullet.

My 30 Noslers (I have two) prefer H1000 & RL26.

Edited to add: I've only shot H1000 & RL26 out of both of them.
