H1000 Alternative

Depends where he is seating the bullets. I run mine around 3.5coal depending on the bullet and run 78gr with a 200gr pill not compressed
One of my .300 WM's COAL is ...

The best alternative to a single base powder is to substitute a double base powder.
I get very good results with RE25 and 180gr AB's. I run either Win (old blue/white bag) or Rem brass, 81gr of RE25 and a 215 or WLRM primer. I get 3160fps in a 26" tube.
Accuracy is sub MoA.
You can get 84gr of RETUMBO under a 180g in Win brass, my rifles yielded above 3200fps. I have 3 hunting rifles in 300WM.

Cheers.

IMr 7977. Temp stable and almost identical to h1000 Hodgdon site states it.

I'm saving my H1000 for hunting season on a few guns. I shot IMr 7977 yesterday over a chrono and I shot my proven h1000 load. I'll need .5 to 1 grain more to match speed of proven load.

IMr 8133 is close to Retumbo per Hodgdon.

Good luck

I have used 8133 to replace Retumbo in three of my rifles, with great results. My Savage Lapua (the only stock LR rifle I shoot) will shoot sub MOA with 87 grains of 8133 and 285 ELDs. Currently playing with N570, but so far not as good as 8133 but the jury is still out. SDs are great but the groups are not.
I'd like to see how your results from N570 turn out, thanks in advance đź‘Ť
