Discover Credit Card to track gun and ammo sales

I don't have a Discover card, if I did I'd cancel it.

That article specifically states it's tracking transactions at stores, but not individual sku's, which is what I've been saying.

I don't agree with what they're doing regardless, but as long as they virtue signal and make ignorant people think they're accomplishing something sadly people will agree with it.

I get 5% back at us bank for sporting goods

I don't love the tracking but in the end I don't care too much. I bought legal goods and have a cwp and NFA items so the know my name anyway

It's not just discover -- visa,mc, and amex are doing it too now ....supposedly the "gun counter" at big box stores will be coded differently to differentiate between "sporting goods and guns/ammo" and at smaller gun stores/ffl's it will all be recorded as the same guns/ammo code.

Pretty sure everything that's purchased electronically is tracked and if it's not it can be very easily. If you don't believe your purchases can and do get monitored you're a fool.
The big stores with integrated *** systems can do so. The smaller or more traditional shops don't. They used to be general merchandise or sporting goods, now they will be an independent FFL code, easily sorted by the private sector. they would report "suspicious" activity and cause us individual consumers undue investigation and harassment.

I can assure you FBI, CIA, and ATF don't need help tracking gun purchases. 1 hour on this site will give them more information than a credit card receipt. Every device the connected to the internet can track anything you look at. People under estimate the technology at hand in the intelligence world. It would absolutely scare you if you knew what could be done and how easily.

until recently they used just a general merchandise code now they are using a separate code and offering the info to the federal and state governments for a backdoor gun registry.
much worse than before, sounds like socialism to me.
How could they do backdoor gun registry with this? They would still need the serial number which they dont have lol..

Kasey

what makes you think they need a serial#, and what makes you think they can't get it if they decide to?
