Custom action @ $1,000 ??

I'm looking for a custom SS short action with a Rem footprint. Is it possible to get a good action for around $1,000, or have those days gone by?

Look at Mac Brothers or Wby 307. We have used quite a few Mac Bros and like them a lot. Just got a couple 307's we should have twisted up in a month or two when barrels arrive.

I think the Origin actions are under 1k. Aero solus should be as well I think, although I have no experience with them.

I think the ARC coupe de gras is as well. That might have the most custom features out of the three I mentioned

I've been liking the areo Solus had 2 rifles and one action and sold one of the rifles. See them often for $600. They're nitrided, pretty smooth, have 60* bolt throw with light bolt lift after the firing pin's been released, take Aw mags, have interchangeable bolt heads, integral rail and lug, and take big horn/ savage small shank prefits.

I'd look at an American Rifle Co, Coupe De Gras. I've heard might need to do some milling for trigger hanger area in a stock/ chassis

I'll just add this:

A new SS Reminton action is running about $550
Blue printing is (IIRC) about $300
That makes a $1,000 custom action a rather good deal.

You can find Kelbly Atlas Tacs for $850 if you get lucky. Otherwise, they are around $950-1000.
My favorite "budget" action. I have a few of them.
