Well, I finally got around to trying bedding a stock with carbon fiber. I piller bedded the action and than removed or lowered the wood to created clearance for the Carbon material, and epoxy. I used clay to fill in the voids on the stock and action, making a complete bed for the cloth and Epoxy. I taped off all areas of the stock I didn't want the carbon fiber to show, but decided to roll the cloth over the top of the stock. This was the first time I've messed with this Carbon Material and I learned a few things for next time. Mainly don't make any cuts until you are ready to lay it, and when filling it, it will dull a file and the shavings are worse than Insulation on your arms! I cut the action bolt holes and recoil lug slot about a week before, and it was a major pain with the fraying....you can see it's a little thin on the front bolt. I used a slow set clear marine epoxy and used the tack method of brushing a coat of epoxy over the stock and when it's tacky, position the cloth and apply more epoxy until it's saturated. From that point on it was pretty much like any other bedding job. The next day I popped the stock off and sanded the sides down to my tape and unmasked it. I removed as much clay as I could from the bottom side, and with files and razor blades removed the Carbon fiber from the magazine area and trigger hole. I didn't take any pictures during the epoxy stage, as I'm kind of a slob and didn't want my phone gubbered up.....
The fabric was very thin, and I ended up sanding through on the top edges when I was cleaning it up, so I'm probably going to just sand it all off and you won't really see any Carbon Fiber unless the stocks off.

I have no idea how to know if it's an improvement, or a waste of time as I haven't shot the rifle that's dropping in here yet, but it's gotta be an improvement from the bare stock it was. Now I just need to refinish and checker it!
I just realized I never took any pictures of it complete.....I'll get some and add them.
