I am wanting to building a Long Range gun from a stock 700, any suggestions before I get started from lighting the trigger to balancing the stock with the right height on the stock (comb) any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks

Unless you're doing it yourself, work closely with a competent and reputable gunsmith who is going to build the rifle for you.

Wyatt Box with long throat so you can seat bullets long esp Berger 190-230.
Good quality stock with careful bedding (ie Manner or McMillan)
Krieger or Benchmark barrel and throat long!
Then the best glass you can afford!

I went with a 30" fluted bbl and a brake. Shilen trig. My only regret is letting the Smith talk me into a 12 twist bbl. It will stabilize a 208gr AMAX but no heavier or longer. Go with a minimum of a 10 twist. Don't make my mistake.
