I'd say 243 Win for everything else 2 years ago. But I picked up a Savage Axis in 6ARC to play with. I was impressed, It's now my grandson's deer rifle.

Don't really like the brother in law asking the question.... so suggested and hyped up the 300 rum for his mountain rifle build.
