7mm X .338 Lapua?

So have a little experience with the 7mm on the lapua caseā€¦.šŸ˜

my 7mm AM will drive a 180 gr berger to 3450 fps in a 26" barrel length. The 195s to nearly 3300 fps in this length barrel and with extremely good brass life.

these numbers would be out of my Stalker class of rifle Like this Stalker Hunter. 26" fluted Bartlein, 8.5 twist barrel and legit numbers listed above.

this rifle has a bare rifle weight in the 8.2 lb range. Have my Stalker UL Mag that will get down into the 7 lb range with same numbers. With my PK brakes there is no recoil, literally none to mention.

my Raptor LRSS rifles come standard with 30" barrels and in those you will see well north of 3500 fps and 180 gr and 3400 fps class velocity with the 195 gr. Those are 13 lb class rifles designed for sit and shoot type hunting.

while the longer barrels certainly produce more velocity, anything 26" and over work extremely well!!

Sending you an email now. I know you have had lots of experience with this stuff for a few years now.

7mm x .338 lapua : what will the barrel life be?
Late to the party here, but the new Bartlein MOD400 harder stainless is a great option for these overbores. Kirby used on one my 7 Allen and I couldn't be happier. Have yet to burn it out but I have good feelings about its advantages.
