7 SAUM custom build

Just finished my 7 SAUM build, decided to go with a #4 contour Brux steel barrel with a 1-8 twist. Finished it at 23" as I couldn't decide between 22" & 24".

I'm really liking this setup, actually lighter than I anticipated and feeds butter smooth in the Lone Peak XM action with the Hawkins bottom metal and mags. First time shooting off of the gunwerks bipod also and I'm really liking the quick adjustments for elevation by spreading the leads out or moving them in - should be a great hunting bipod.

Shot a pressure test yesterday with new ADG brass, 180gr hybrids, 210m primers and N565 - loaded to .020 off the lands at 3.086" COAL. Have a good starting spot for load development around 2,880 fps - never hit pressure...

63.0gr - 2,773 fps
63.5gr - 2,801 fps
64.0gr - 2,814 fps
64.5gr - 2,835 fps
65.0gr - 2,872 fps
65.5gr - 2,885 fps
66.0gr - 2,904 fps

Also, shot some left over ammo from another rifle built by the same rifle builder (Alamo Precision) with 175gr berger elite hunters and N560 - I think it's going to shoot! This is shots 8,9,10 down the barrel at 100 yards.

Excited to stretch it out soon and go hunting with it this fall.

I have that same old model 7 with that slow twist (what it's considered now days) as well, but, it loves them old Sierra GameKing 160 HPBT bullets and can stack them up in a tiny clover at 2900fps and a dream to carry!!

I've loaded for 5 of these 7 SAUM's now and every single one has been very accurate right out of the gate.

another range trip today and I'm ready to stretch this rifle out this weekend - was lucky that the first seated depth charge I tried today was a winner - 26 thou off.

13 rounds down the barrel now and I'm ready to start some long range testing/shoot some hogs at the ranch.

Load is as follows:

65.3gr N565
New ADG Brass
180gr Berger Hybrid loaded to 3.080" COAL, .026 off the lands
210m primer
2,878 fps avg

Hope to shoot some steel this weekend at distance as well.

I'm in a love affair with my 7 saum. It's a my first 7 saum which I got in a Fierce rival.
So it's been in the top two easiest rifles I've ever loaded for.
I picked 168 vld to shoot and I didn't even measure the chamber because I didn't and still don't have a modified case.
So I seated them to mag length and a little bit of RL 26 and went out and shot a **** near one holer at 100. Went out again and confirmed it was the load and it was great. One trip out and I thought I was done.

It was just two easy. I got bored and was thinking what would the 175 elite do ?
This is the part that makes me laugh .
I loaded up my charges of RL 26 and just thought I'll just seat a 175 where my 168 were seated. Boom it fit the the Mag.
Went and shot them and I'll be damned it shot dang dear a one holer at 100 at the max charge I had loaded with more speed than my 168 load and zero pressure.
I'm usually a technical guy and measure every bullet in every gun I have but this was kind of test and it's awesome that it paid off.
That doesn't happen to me very often.
I've shot this 7Saum out to 1035 yards the other day and this thing phenomenal.
It's shooting a 175 elites @2955 fps with 61.5 gr of rl26 , 210 m , adg brass.

I love this 7 saum so much I'm going to get 7 saum tattooed across my back
