ive been intrerested in this for abuild. what is your build up consist of? what works for you?

what barrel lengths and contours are you using? this will be a combo gun. Hunting and benchrest but more hunting for sure.

Same as yours... Hunting/target... A do all was in mind with the build.
 
I've got two.

Krieger 26" 1:8.5 MTU contour (I coated interior with Ultra Bore Coat and have not had to clean barrel in over 900 rds)

TPS 30mm alum rings
NF 5.5-22x50 NP-R1 reticle

Load is as follows

130 Berger VLD - .010" into lands
40.8 gr H4350
CCI 450
Redding Type-S FL Bushing die with .289" bushing
1/2 MOA all day long @ 2850 fps & have over 1300 yds down barrel.

It likes 140 VLD and 140 Part with Rel 17/Fed 205m primer. Same die set. No changes in the die's adjustments. I'm seeing 2950 fps with the VLD and 2850 with the Partition. 1/2 MOA for both.

Between the two rifles, I've got over 2000+ rounds and have NEVER had to trim necks, except when prepping brass.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this round. It's so easy to load for. Their's numerous proven loads on the internet so not much load development will be needed.

Mine does this in a fishtail wind from 600 yds. Will do the same from 800! Bolt head is 1.3". 10 rounds fired. 38.5 Varget with 123 gr. Sierra HPBT, BR-4 primers.

Have you seen any temp deviations with the RL17?
