That seems like a lot! Even though its a large case, 3% seems a bit much.
Thats what a lot of improved cases gain.
I would check headspace and body dimensions on a virgin case vs a fired case.
I got my shoulder gauge today.
Fired brass is uniform in length but virgin cases are 5-6 thousandths under with the occasional .008 under fire formed.
Do you think that's enough to cause an occasional weak primer strike?
At this point I'm thinking my headspace is fine, just undersized brass..

.008" MIGHT if it was coupled with a somewhat weak strike?
.008" isn't the easiest thing on the web though when forming. Not dangerous, but would definitely stretch the case ahead of the web more than normal. I would probably jam the bullets with that much head space
