My dad really liked his 7-08 with 140s. I loaded him up some 162 grains before and he thought they were awesome. He couldn’t handle much recoil. He was getting frail With his age. Sure miss him. I’d do anything to have him back.

Yes the 135 grain bullets from a 24” barrel can. Not a 140-147 grain bullet from a 20” - 22” barrel. READ PEOPLE READ.

Are people really not ready my comments Or do they not know the difference between a 6.5 CM and a 6.5 PRC? Go back and read what I wrote. Yes I no the 6.5 PRC can hit 3200 FPS With a 140 ish grain bullet. I have Hornady, Berger, Hodgdon, Nosler, Speer reloading books that help guid me.

I’m with ya. There are some people on here saying their 6.5 CM are hitting those velocities with like a 22” barrel. The 6.5 PRC can do it all day long. Wish people would read the thread before just chiming in not knowing the full conversation.

Some people were saying they are getting those numbers from a 6.5 CM. I know the 6.5 PRC can.

I don’t know if I’d turn a 6.5 PRC into a 7 PRC. Maybe a 300 PRC to a 7 PRC, that would be my path. Just my opinion. Best of luck.

So I’m hitting the 2980-2990 with my 260 Rem and a 27” barrel w/ H4350. So if R26 nets you an additional 150-200 FPS as someone claimed on here that would put my 260 Rem in the record books at 3150 ish FPS. The 260 Terminator actually using R26 cant even do that with the exact same 27” Krieger...

So what people are saying is the 6.5 CM manufactured by Hornady can push 140 grain bullets as fast as Hornady’s new 6.5 PRC which is supposed to be 200-250 FPS than the CM and the 6.5 PRC pushes 140 - 143 grains bullets between 2975 - 3025 FPS. I think Hornady messed up somewhere.

Maybe I got a bad batch of R26 then. Any body want it I got about 10 #s of it. I dont get anywhere near 3000 fps from my CM shooting 140 grain Berger’s. I dont even know how long I been reloading for it. I think I got it back in 2008 or 2009.

Yeah you have to be very careful on here when getting data for the 6.5 Creedmoor. There is a ton Of people claiming 3000 ish FPS with 140ish grain bullets with R26 from a 26” barrel and even some with 20” barrels. From a 26” tube you will net between 2700 -2750 fps at best. Be careful with some...
