    NEVER should've done it

For turkeys I can see buying TSS due to low round count. The Federal Black Cloud TSS can be found on sale for around $3.50/shell so even pheasant hunters can likely justify that cost. This isn't bragging on my shooting, because I'm a only slightly above average wingshooter, but I absolutely...

    NEVER should've done it

Yes, it's 63% more dense than lead and is non-toxic at the same time. It patterns incredibly tight. With respect to velocities, you CAN, but don't need to drive it as fast as steel due to its massive downrange speed and energy advantage.

    NEVER should've done it

Yep. You can certainly go back to using a spear too. That statement is as weak as the antis saying the 2nd Amendment only covers muskets. The shooting sports are driven by technology. The advantages of TSS over other non-toxic shot is overwhelming. For killing wild roosters on WMAs and GPAs, its...

What do YOU call these bugs?

Here are some of the creepy crawlies we had to contend with when I lived in Missouri. I tried my best to capture one of the giant Hercules Beetles that flew through the yard one day but couldn't catch up to it before it landed. My daughter was into etymology at the time and was putting together...

What do YOU call these bugs?

Oh they can bite. Ask my brother. He was bitten years ago. Very painful and people can have very adverse reactions to the saliva. From the googles... The giant water bug is a predatory insect that hunts aquatic creatures. This bug has sharp mouthparts that deliver a painful bite to prey and...

    Scope recommendations for Prairie Dogs

Big glass for me on all my varmint rigs. Heck my 17 HMR is wearing a 6.5-20 Leupold. Aim small miss small. I have higher end and lower end scopes that all work well including Burris, Leupold, Vortex, Weaver, Arken, Bausch & Lomb, Trijicon and others. My next trip for dogs will be with a new...

    NEVER should've done it

Yep, tight patterns for sure. I never run tighter than IC when shooting tungsten.

    NEVER should've done it

As a comparison between steel and TSS, a 1 oz load of #BB steel(71 pellets) at 1450 FPS will penetrate 2.25" of ballistic gel at 45 yards and 1.5" at 72 yards. Now compare that with a 1oz load of #8 TSS(251 pellets - over 3X the number of steel) at 1450 FPS will penetrate 2.25" of gel at 65...

    NEVER should've done it

Seriously. Check out all the videos on YouTube. TSS is killing turkeys and geese at unheard of ranges. Guys are using 410s and 28s to hunt ducks and smashing birds that guys using 12ga are not.

    Indoor pigeons

The Crosman 1322 or 1377 are surprisingly accurate and powerful multi pump pistols that can be had new for under $60. I have used mine for numerous indoor vermin control situations. There are lots of accessories that can be 3D printed for them as well. Scope rails and very effective suppressors...

    NEVER should've done it

The part it took me a while to wrap my head around was the fact that you can go down to a #9 TSS pellet(357pellets/oz) and get the same penetration and killing power of a #BB steel pellet(71pellets/oz). Pattern density is off the charts compared to steel shot because of this also. You can shoot...

    NEVER should've done it

I made the switch to TSS for pheasants last year and will never look back. I'll be shooting 2-3/4" 3/4oz 28 gauge this fall loaded with TSS. It kills and patterns like nothing I've ever used before. Yes, it is expensive, but well worth it. I've even got my eye on a 410 over/under. There are guys...
