When I was shooting for the AK NG I used 42 gr of 4895 and 180 SMKs (pre 175 SMK days) for 1000 yard matches out of M14s. Worked great.

I think it’s the law in Alaska moose have to be hunted with a pre-64 Model 70 in ‘06 using an El Paso made 4x Weaver scope.
