    28 Nosler/195 Berger EH

It's been a few years since I posted anything here, but I thought maybe I would share some loads for the 28 nosler and 195 BEH bullet seeing as how there is very little data on the web about it. This combo has been around a little while, yet it's hard to find anything on just the standard throat...

    New 6.5 Idea

Naah, you did fine! And so did the rifle/cartridge. Once again, I was very impressed with what I saw this wildcat do. It hasn't disliked a powder yet. The H4831sc target was the only one that showed something wasn't going to be deadly accurate, and in the end, it wasn't the powder at all! No...

    New 6.5 Idea

Thanks RHB and Steve! Sure means a lot to me. Has it really been four years? Wow! There were some great long range hunts and tests in those years. Even a few with my new camera! Probably ought to start a seperate thread about those things though I suppose?!

    New 6.5 Idea

Thank you very much Riley. That is very nice of you to say. I was really debating whether or not it would be worth it to post here after my many year hiatus, but your post solved that matter in my mind. I wish you the best of luck and good shooting! And if there's anything I can do in the...

    New 6.5 Idea

More importantly, I brought the all-important numismatic size comparison object! Ha, ha! But if I had known how good that boomstick was going to shoot, I'd have brought something smaller! Good job fellas............I think you're on to something there. You might have well created the...

    Utah or Alaska

Oh yeah, one other problem here with hunting. Our tags are so cheap and easy to put in for that you have every swinging Tom putting in his neighbors, his second cousins, his dogs, and his goldfish in on the draws. That kinda hurts your chances of drawing.

    Utah or Alaska

The hunt draws are pretty tough here but it's gettin that way for every lower 48 state with maybe the exception of WY. But it's no matter, there are plenty of varmints to scratch your itchy trigger finger and most of them don't require any sort of license. The only real big downside to...

    Utah or Alaska

I don't know of any 10 lb rainbows but we have monster lake trout. ANd actually, our basin area is thriving from the booming oil business. Dang near every motel room in every town is rented out or was this summer. The Ute indian tribe has sold almost every right to the oil on their...

Why is the 6mm so successful at matches?

Yeah, I had a bar-b-q with Dan a couple months ago and heard about that. Way cool!

Sorry to hear about the hounding. I thought most here had "chilled" a bit from that. I know how frustrating that can be (being LDS and living in the bible belt next to southern Baptists gets the same effect) but don't let that sway your decision. Just smile and be proud to be different...

Why is the 6mm so successful at matches?

Ah yes, here it is: Best of the Best: 1000-yard Record Dasher I love this one 'cause my buddy Dan brainstormed and created this round back in the day and they told him the same thing, "It's too **** small". Well, he's smiling now!

Why is the 6mm so successful at matches?

How 'bout the top 10? Check out what they did at Williamsport this year. Wasn't there a world record set there just recently? I think someone down in Tucson did good too or was it Reno? Hey, and didn't Ricard Shatz get a big Redding ad for setting some kind of world record with his 6br...

Why is the 6mm so successful at matches?

I have to disagree. There have been many 1k matches won with 6mm's both for score and group. Yes, it gives up a bit to the bigger stuff when the wind really starts howling but the 6mm shouldn't be underestimated. Some of my best 1k groups have been shot with the puny little 6br improved...

Why is the 6mm so successful at matches?

In the long range or mid range formats, the bullets of choice of 6mm's are 95 grain VLD's up to 120 VLD's which have a ballistic coefficient in the range of .5 to over .6. These are comparable bc's to 30 caliber bullets in the 165-200+ categories. Couple this with small recoils, inherently...
