Nobody has mentioned cleaning the crap out of barrel. I had a 'hand me down' 243 that wouldn't shoot any thing consistent. Shoots great now that I have all the copper/carbon removed. Also check for carbon ring in throat.

Thanks guy's, all good info. I will definitely be using bedding studs and not the action screws. I know AG says they should shoot great un-bedded, but I don't like how much play there is in the action prior to torque the action screws down. Consensus seems to suggest to stop bedding at recoil...

I have experienced it in Shilen SS match grade barrels and Winchester factory barrels. I am in processes of breaking in a Proof 7PRC but haven't mixed bullet types yet. We'll see shortly! It would be great if it's not an issue.

For medium sized deer at moderate range you cant go wrong with CT ballistic tip. Never had one fail, good exit, minimal meat damage, DRT.
