Although now that I've read through your whole thread I just bought a 7 rem mag bergara hunter that came with a radial brake and I LOVE IT!
Shoots reasonably softly its still 7rem but its not punishing at all I shot 60 rounds my first trip with it!

really nice I was on public if I get a day or two could I come out and hike with ya etc im taking my Subaru in for repairs so assuming nothings majorly wrong with it I wouldn't mind coming out there I was just there for 4 days.
I just got back saw a ton of wildlife: Pronghorn, Moose, Elk, Mule Deer was really cool I spooked a herd of bed down cows but in my anxiousness didn't get a shot worth taking I kind of spooked my self in the process haha.
