I would go with powder coated bullets in an aftermarket barrel. Maybe the G40 or new G20 barrels have tighter chambers than my G20 oem barrel had. I don't know.
I do know the button rifled Lone Wolf ss barrel I installed in my pistol had a much tighter chamber and did not give me guppy belly...
I have had 0 cold weld problems with either moly or HBN.
This summer I pulled over 200 loaded rounds of 416 Remington , all had moly tumbled bullets. Using an impact bullet puller. I had reduced the diameter of the neck expander in my sizing die to give 8 thousandth neck tension . And crimped...
As you have the smaller carts pretty well covered .
I would suggest the 375 H&H. In a nice wood stocked rifle with a controlled feed , fixed ejector , non rotating extractor action. Its pretty hard to beat. Lots of people in Alaska use it as their moose cartridge. It works great. Isn't bad on...
I pretty much always pack a handgun when outdoors.
Mostly my G20 or 4 1/2" barreled super Redhawk in 480 Ruger.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet ( I've only read the first page so far)
A handgun also serves as a signal device. Several times I've used one to let the person running the...
If everything went right and a person had a good double lung shot. A fragile bullet like the ELD X would probably work.
But sometimes things don't go just right for a no bone shot.
I wouldn't use one !
A box or 2 of good tough expanding bullets isn't that much money. And its not like they...
A waterproof, breathable top bivy sack increases the warmth of a sleeping bag by at least 10 degrees. Protects the insulation also.
Keeps the spilled soup from getting into the bags insulation.
I consider the shoulder/leg joint to be a great place to shoot a bear. If not the near shoulder then the offside shoulder/leg. Done it a few times, works great.
Spine shot can work good.
It's a favorite shot with a master guide up here that sometimes packs an 06. But he also packs a 458 for...
No,
Maybe it will penetrate farther than some small or frangible rifle bullet.
I've blown 458 and 416 bullets thru 6 feet and more of brown bear. A 10mm ain't gonna do that !
And had wound cavities that were over 4" diameter.
Not wrong. I always aim for heavy bone in brown bear. Sometimes its the off side shoulder.
I shoot the 458 Win mag and various 416s. . They are my deer hunting carts and rifles till after the bears go to bed and I'm beach hunting from a skiff.
Most of what people think they know about large...
Acclamation is what you need. Being from Florida your body has switched off its heat making by and large.
U need to get that switched on !
What you eat has alot to do with how warm u will be.
Lots of fat and plenty of high energy carbs. Bacon+eggs and potatoes. And candy bars and cookies...
I'm real glad Len put his foot down . I'm a member of the 6.5 Creedmoor forum. We don't have all this squabbling over there. And most everyone is well behaved enough that I've never had to put anyone on ignore.
This forum has been a real friendly and informative and worth my time to spend...
