Glad I had the fore sight to start socking up before the first Oboma election. I have to buy very little these days and have enough to get by with a decent amount of shooting for the rest of my life. The only components I buy anymore are when I want to experiment with a new round.
Also has a Timney trigger , McMillan classic stock with full bedding job / floated barrel. Custom bottom metal and full cerakote job that I did and topped with a Leupold VX 6 hd 3x18.
A friend /gunsmith did the barrel install and chambering. I did the bedding and every thing else.
Congrats on getting your rifle back and having a shooter! My 700 mountain in 280 has been through several mods , and is a tack driver. Now just in 280AI.
I use it in a 7-08 with a 139 grain Barnes LRX. Good consistent 5/8 inch 5 shot groups at 2840 fps. 22 in barrel. using 44.8 grains in Starline brass with a federal lg rifle primer.
2.8 oal. Went all the way up to 46.5 gains and 3050 fps. That load showed mild ejector swipes and flattened...
Barrel life has never been a factor for me, although I do not shoot high intensity cartridges.

I work up to max charge weight in new brass, then back off 1 grain and look for best seating depth. With once fired brass I then set my FL die up to size to that datum on the shoulder. I don't want to set the shoulder back. Next I try different primers to find which gives me the best results...
