I shot my first silhoutte match yesterday. It was a lot of fun. I learned quite a bit too. I used a remington 504-hb with a tasco 6X24X40 scope. The scope was the weak link. The clicks were hard to feel and I miscounted. My score was only 16 out of 40. I'm going to use my 10-22T next time.

What I'm looking for is a basic varmint load. I want something with some weight similar to my deer load. I've been using 150 gr. core lokt's but I don't get enough expansion with them. The bullet just zips through on groundhogs.

Yes they did make the sendero in 7mm saum, and 300 saum too. Grice gun shop in Clearfield Pa. still has some.

With 160's I've had good luck with H-1000. I've had good results with the 160 gr. accubond. I have also used the 175 gr. sierra with retumbo. That bullet is one of the best shooters I've ever used.

Anyone have any experience with this bullet?

I just bought a blued T last week. The first thing I did was install a kidd trigger in it. 6 ounces right now. I will be using this rifle for 50 ft. indoor offhand shooting. So far I have'nt found an ammo that it does'nt like.

I've had good luck with it too in my 7mm saum with 175's.

What about the sierra 175 gr. gameking?

What do you guys think is the best all around 7mm bullet? I've had good results on paper at least with a 150 gr. nosler partition.

My best loads are, 58 grs. of h-4350-3100 f.p.s.140 gr. accubond. 67 grs. of h-1000 150 partition, 3067 f.p.s. 64 grs. h-1000 160 accubond,2920 f.p.s. 61 grs. 7828 160 speer, 2902 f.p.s.63.5 grs. of retumbo 175 gr. sierra gameking 2808 f.p.s. They all shoot so well I have'nt decided on which to...

I shot a doe last year with a 140 accubond at 3100 f.p.s. out of a 7mm saum. The shot broke the left shoulder, turned the heart and lungs to mush, and exited behind the right shoulder. Hardly any bloodshot meat to speak of. I just was'nt pleased with how far the deer went after being hit.

That bullet is one of the best shooting out of my 7mm saum. I have'nt killed anything with them but groundhogs. I'm loading four grains under max and get 2807 f.p.s. avg. I'm taking that rifle /load hunting this year.

I use 150 gr. speer bullets for deer. 57.5 grs. of H-4831 or 57 grs, of rl-22. 2800 f.p.s.or so with 4831, 2860 f.p.s. with rl-22. H-1000 seems kind of slow for 130's.
