UPS has officially stopped shipping guns?

Got to love people who have no idea. ;) The law is the law no matter how much you do not like it. When shipping and when your firearm disappears because you marked it "machine parts" the chuckling you hear will be me.
We may not be talking about the same thing here, but there's a difference between a private company policy and a law.

With all the law and rule finger pointing you forgot about name calling, derogatory speech. Weird how laws and rules work ain't it?
This mentality is how people get loaded on train cars.
Concertina wire is coming @ Walmart induction centers

UPS is also closing the vast majority of their hubs nationwide over the next year. The hubs will ship for individuals IF you use "shipmygun.com". Its a subsidiary of budsgunshop and they struck a deal with UPS but it is required to go to a hub. Our local one has already closed. Total BS, now you have to pay an FFL to send repairs in.

Ship my gun.com shipped two very recently worked perfectly. UPS, non descript box dropped off at terminal, no need to walk in and tell everyone your shipping a gun.

Yep....I see they have changed the guidelines on their website now. Following in the footsteps of FedEx.
FedEx shipped my S&W revolver back to S&W last week. As long as there is a pre printed label they said they will ship guns. Might be different elsewhere.

"Firearm" will have the same definition as set forth in Title 18, Chapter 44, and Title 26, Chapter 53, of the United States Code.

"Firearm Part" is any part or component of a Firearm that does not by itself meet the definition of a "Firearm." By way of example only, Firearm Parts include, but are not limited to, barrels, stocks, grips, firing pins, sights, and magazines/clips.

"Firearm Products" means Firearms and Firearm Parts. The term Firearm Product does not include scopes.

UPS accepts packages containing Firearm Products for shipment only as a contractual service and only from Shippers who are licensed importers, licensed manufacturers, licensed dealers, or licensed collectors (as defined in Title 18, Chapter 44 of the United States Code) to authorized recipients, as outlined in the approved UPS agreement for the transportation of Firearm Products.
Funny I just sent a scope to Leupold and ups said if it attaches to s firearm they will not ship it this was at my local hub.

I tried to ship an action from my local UPS hub yesterday, and was told they no longer ship guns or gun parts from non authorized shippers. I knew they had changed policy last year, but individuals where still able to ship to FFL's. That is no more. The person at the counter apologized profusely, but said corporate UPS will hold their hubs responsible for violating policy if they ship a gun or gun parts containing a serial number. They gave me a copy of the policy and it's pretty clear they are done shipping for individuals and any business they haven't "approved ". It also sounds like the approval process is arbitrary at best. Ammo, brass and projectiles will be next I'm sure.
Their policy change in the middle of last year clearly stated NO SHIPPING FROM NON FFLS. USPS is the only way for a non FFL to ship currently. I know many have been pushing the envelope but I am not going take a chance.

FedEx will still ship firearms as far as I know but they have no shipping insurance available. If you ship UPS on the sly, that is you do not tell them it's a firearm it will most certainly void the insurance based on the falsification of contents. This leaves us the post office. Per USPS regs a private individual can ship a long gun to a dealer or manufacturer, or, to himself if he choose to mail his gun for a hunting trip instead of putting on the airlines. But, handguns have to go dealer to dealer.

Fedex was the first to stop shipping from Non FFLs.
