N.M. Oryx

That's typical with 6.5CM. Not sure where all the 6.5 hate tread comes from. My Aoudad went 3-4 feet, and sat down slowly. Never got up.
I know where it comes from. Guys buying a rifle they heard was a sniper rifle. Shooting target ammo. And trying shots way out of the distance they should. But I've not had any issues.

Just filled out the application on line today for general tags for December 1st choice and January 2nd choice, tough odds but you can't win if ya don't play!! JR

Gday snox

I give the edge to oryx. Maybe backstrpa steaks go to elk but the rest I think oryx. Just got another one last week in Texas. 211 yards with my 6.5 creedmore. Went about 5 yards.
Moving away from eating if you don't mind
I've shot plenty of oryx & no elk history so all being equal how do those 2 compare on a hard to kill scale

cheers

I didn't draw either. Chef do you have some info on outfitters if that's what you are doing?
In Texas there are many ranches/ outfitters that have Scimitar oryx for hunting. A 5day exotic hunting license is 38 bucks. Just Google scimitar oryx texas, plenty of choices. These are guided hunts with trophy fees.

I just shot this oryx with a 375 cheytac last week. These animals are tough as nails!
