Carl Zeiss Sports Optics, the world's leading manufacturer of high performance sports optics, is pleased to announce the TERRA XB75 crossbow scope has been selected as the recipient of the 2016 Golden Bullseye Award from American Hunter for Optic of the Year. The award was presented to ZEISS at an invitation-only breakfast held during the 2016 NRA Annual Meeting & Exhibits which took place May 19th – 22nd at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
"We are truly honored and humbled to receive such a prestigious award", said Joel Harris, Inventor of the XB75 patented reticle and Head of Global Public Relations for Carl Zeiss SBE, LLC – Sports Optics Division. "We recognized the need for a premium scope in the growing crossbow scope segment and to win the NRA Publications Division's highest honor with it is beyond our wildest dreams."
The NRA Publications Golden Bullseye Award, which is now in its fortieth year, acknowledges the finest products available in the shooting sports. Winners of the awards are chosen by a seven-member committee including editors, graphic designers and veteran NRA Publications staff.
Each year, the NRA publications' staff members spend significant time testing and reviewing the latest guns, glass and gear in order to select those products that prove to be the best in their respective categories-rifle, shotgun, handgun, optic and accessory-and award them the NRA Publications Division's highest honor: the Golden Bullseye Award.
"The fact that our Optic of the Year is a scope made for a crossbow is no accident," said Scott Olmsted, Editor in Chief, NRA American Hunter. "Besides the fact the Zeiss Terra XB75 is an optic positively worthy of such an honor, it's important to note almost 40 states now allow crossbow use during archery seasons; we thought that development was worth a nod. However, while crossbow technology continues to expand in light of new regulations, advancements in crossbow scopes have not kept pace—until now. With the Zeiss Terra XB75, hunters who take advantage of the growth of crossbow seasons now can use an optic that allows them to take full advantage of the crossbow technology in their hands."
The TERRA XB75 2-7x32 features all the benefits of German engineering and performance that you've come to expect from ZEISS, including uncompromising optical performance, in an extremely rugged, compact 1" design. The XB75 features ZEISS exclusive MC anti-reflective coatings to produce bright, high-contrast images eliminating the need for an illuminated reticle. Now you can hunt harder and longer by being able to stay on stand when the final rays of light are being squeezed out of the day. The patented technology of the XB75's reticle provides the ability to shoot distances up to 75 yards in 2 ½ half yard increments. The TERRA XB75 is backed by the Carl Zeiss U.S. Limited Lifetime Transferable Warranty.
