I have a Remington 700 Long Action . I want to get a wyatt extended box for it and try to install it myself , has any of yall done this before ? I've heard of others doing it in the past , maybe some one could help guid me through it.

Thanks for any help.

Big buck, If you purchase the Wyatts it will come with instructions.

If it looks like more than you can handle send it to a smith and have him instal it for you.

If you have access to a milling machine, it should not be a problem for you to do.

I've heard of some guys doing it with a dremel, but I would not advise it.

Why would you want to install an after market mag box in place of one of the longest mag boxes in the OTC industry?

Because doing so allows you to use mag fed rounds that can reach the lands with bullet bearing surface and potentially increase accuracy as well as usable case volume with the typically long throated factory rifle which are often 'set up' so that mag fed rounds can't reach the lands. ...industry liability issue would be my guess.

I sure couldn't come close to reaching the lands with any bullet, even very snub nosed low BC bullets, let alone the typically high BC long secant ogive bullets typically favored by LR shooters, using rounds that would feed through the mag in my factory REM 700 LA. Installing the 4.010" Wyatt's box gives you the flexibility to do what you want, if the above is what you want to do.

Thanks coyboy I was considering the drimmel method, I have a friend that has a milling machine so I'll use that if I decide to do it myself .

Jmden +1 I use the 210 berger and the further I seat them the better they shoot. In my 300rum sendero right now I'm bearly clearing my factory mag box and I want to be able to get all I can out of it :)

olcrip,
That's what were all here for to learn all we can:)

Thanks for everyone's reply
