My family has been hunting with 300 WMs for the past 25 years. We are gradually converting over to 300 RUMs to maintain more ft-lbs of energy as we become more proficient at long range elk hunting. This gun will actually be for my mother to replace the 300 WM that she has been using for 20+ years (she has been borrowing my father's 300 RUM for longer distance shots since he converted several years ago).
