Hey all, as some may know, I just purchased a 1981 vintage M70 in .264wm. It was a closet queen, with little to no use. Anyhow, the trigger was every bit of 5 pounds. So, I removed action, and was going to remove a coil to get it reduced. Even then, it was still too tight, or heavy. That spring resembled a coil spring from a car! I Google and found a replacement, but it was $13 plus shipping, and a undetermined wait. Sooo, I went to Ace hardware, and went into the hardware section, where there were drawers assorted springs. I bought a few at about $2 each. One in particular worked very well. I discarded the two check nuts, and removed enough coils to get the tension, but you have to leave enough to re engage the sear. Bottom line, it's at about 2 lbs or so. Very smooth, SAFE, and a lot less the the 5 pounds it was. Just wanted to pass this along. Cheers!
