Winchester m70 Magazine box

I have a M70 in .222 Rem and want to ream out to 22-250AI, do I need to replace the magazine box with perhaps a 308 length box and alter the bolt stop or can the .222 box be altered? also where can I get magazine boxes and followers in Australia, hope someone out there can help.
