No. I think they order in large batches and ship from overseas. This means when there's a run on the product it doesn't take many surplus sales to run us out of gun powder.....not unlike toilet paper.

Now, what will folks do with hoarded r26 when they find out it doesn't work in 9mm or 5.56??

Same crap they did when their 10,000 bricks of 22LR were worth only 1/2 of what they paid: try to sell it at their inflated prices, and go bankrupt when they fail.

I just picked up a can each of H4350 and H 1000 last week from my favorite gun shop in rural Nebraska. The shop always carried a large powder inventory and the owner goes out of his way to keep inventory up.

Shortages appear here and there all the time. Generally, I can find what I need or just work up new loads with what is available. If you shoot a lot you need to buy in bulk.
I could probably do 99% of my reloading with Varget and H1000. I really don't "need" to have 40 different powders on hand all the time.

Yes certain powders are as everyone on most of these forums knows the long range game has Really grown in the last five years or so and that's good for our sport but it does come with some growing pains

Believe it or not there are powders other than RL 25/26 that will work in magnum cartridges.

All the ones I have used for decades are available at Powder Valley.

4831SC, H 869, 4350, 4381, 7828SSC, all Norma, all Ramshot, all Shooters World, most VVs, WRA staball. Of you can't get buy with these, you a'int trying !

I prefer Retumbo H 1000 reloader 23 and others and they are hard to come by or have been when you find them you need to buy at least 8 pounds at a time get it while you can it's all about supply and demand

There has been a run on components since the pandemic broke out. With the Dems getting a better chance at the WH there will be a run on everything firearm related.

Find a online business that deals a lot in what your looking for and get your name on a waiting list. I did this with Powder Valley a few months ago to get some Varget.

As mentioned before, Powder Valley is great to work with as is Midsouth Shooters Supply. Both will typically have Good quantities mainstream product, if available at all.

You're seeing shortages in mainline big box stores IMO. Small lesser known shops still have inventory because they are less accessible. Happy hunting. Try AmmoSeek.con
