I just returned from the best hunting vacation of my life. Myself and my two boys as hunters and my wife as an observer went to South Africa on a plains game hunt. Words don't describe well enough how much fun we had. Granted, this has been a dream for me for all of my adulthood, and to be able to go with my whole family was really a blessing. We split a package of 9 animals, 3 of which were cull animals as part of the package. We ended up adding 2 additional animals after our package was satisfied and we still had itchy trigger fingers. The topography, the people, the game rich environments, the Land Cruiser rides looking for game, the food, the wine, the ability to disconnect from the rest of the world.....I could go on. It definately left me asking myself why we had not done it sooner. If anyone reading this is interested in a break from the hard work horseback hunting, or the 'hoping for a tag' game, it is well worth consideration. The economics of the trip are far better than anything in the US, for multiple animals and/or mumtie hunters in a party. Here are some photos of the animals we harvested.
