I am in school in Dothan AL and want to shoot a deer or two this year; are there any public land locations nearby that I could look into? Or I would be willing to pay a few hundred for someone to let me come shoot a doe or cull for meat.

Welcome to the Dothan area.
Try the Barbour County management area in Eufaula, AL (about 45 minutes north of Dothan). There are a lot of deer in that area. Some nice bucks are harvested off that land. If you are simply interested in a doe for meat, you will definitely find one.

The season can be a little confusing with the different Zones of the Management area, but if you study it, you'll figure it out.
