Well now i've got my wyatt mag box installed i'm going to try out my new hornady OAL tool but I know while seated closer to the lands pressure will spike . What is your sweet load for your 300 RUM . my old load was seated just shy of the factory mag box 85.5 grains of Retumbo & 215M primer nosler custom brass. Iwant to do like most on this site are doing i want to pack all the powder I can get away with and achieve maximum accuracey/safety/ and MV .

Thanks in advance your help .

I am shooting 89 grains of Retumbo & 215 M primer in my 300 RUM Factory Remington. I think that I am 3.700...but will double check. Will shoot this weekend for speed The gun shoots under moa at 100 yeards.

.010 off, 95.5g Retumbo, 215m, not sure the COAL 3.8 something in a Wyatt's, Exbal says (using Litz's g1 velocity banding data) I'm just below 3K fps mv with this and chrono had me a few fps faster about 3020 or so. Very mild--I think the brass will last quite a while and there's plenty of ummph for elk out to 1K at the elevations I hunt--got t 338AX coming for beyond that. Found this load using Jerry Teo's method outlined here in the articles section and it worked very well and quickly--this load has been amazingly consistent at all ranges.

Thanks elkslayer and jmden.

"got the .338AX coming beyond that" please post pics when it gets here.

I'll try your load jmden how far have you shot this load ? and what kind of groups were you getting ?

Thanks BB

Definitely work up to my load from well below that. I may have gotten a slower batch of powder, some strange rifle variables, etc. as obviously many are well below a 95.5 g charge. Use at your own risk.

Went to the range on saturday. 91 grains of retumbo with a 210 VLD and 3.70 averaged 2942 fps. This combo was very accurate and shot a 3 shot .35" group. Sending the information to Kenton for a new turret. Not spending any mote time to get any more speed........dont think I can get any better accuracy than what I have now. Love this stock Remington 700 SPS with HS Thumbhole stock. Hope she shoots well to 800 yards!

Good job Elkslayer ! I haven't been able to shoot my rifle yet because I took on a side job roofing a 55 square house .11/12 pitch. Man I realize just how out of shape the office job has made me :) shingles are a lot rougher on your fingers then computer keys LOL. I can't waite to get this job done so i can order more reloading goodies and do SOME SHOOTIN :D

P.S. keep us posted when you strech it out to 800 YRDS

92 grains of Retumbo with CCI 250's, COL 3.775", getting 3040fps. Need to get a Wyatt's installed!

90.5 gr. of Retumbo, Federal 215 primers, Nosler brass and a 28" Douglas barrel on a Remington 700 Sendero are giving me 3118fps on my Pro Chrony chronograph and .20 to .30 MOA without any pressure signs. OAL is 3.790".
Hope this is helpful - good luck!
