I have an SHV and a Vortex PST I consider them fairly equal in Quality. Image quality is a little bit better on the SHV but it's only noticeable when your set them side by side. I like the PST turrets and focus controls better. The SHV feels more rugged but IMO the vortex has the better warranty. However, I've never had to use warranty on either one. Depending on which power range you select and if on sale the price could be 100-300 lower for the vortex. If you're a veteran you can save a lot more money buying the PST through ExpertVoice. You can snag a 5-25x50 FFP for 40% off MSRP…that's just under a thousand dollars.
