[QUOTE="charliewhisky, post: 2585033, member: 26716"] I Many others have described my average hunt on pubic land. In Georgia I want two liters of water in a backpack and a Lifestraw. I need at least 50 ft of rope to rig deer drags and cope with terrain on the way out. Salty snacks, lighter, first aid kit, a backup btry for my phone, phone, bug spray. Very often I go in wearing long johns, shirt, heavy sweater or coat because I will be doing a slow sneak in the cold after waiting motionless for dawn. By the time I come out, especially if I am lucky, it will be in the eighties and I will often be shirtless with a light orange string vest and finishing a 1.5 mile drag over rough terrain. The clothing has to go somewhere. The pack has a pocket for carrying a bow or rifle. On my belt, in a small emergency kit that is never taken off, I have an emergency beacon, lighter, compass, and a folding knife. I have to plan to be delayed because I am getting slower at 74.
