I am looking for a hunting scope that goes up to 12 or 14 power that will hold zero on my 6lb. 30-06.
I am looking in the $100-$200 price range and it needs to have mil dots or a BDC. Adjustable parallax is a plus.
Back in '93 I bought a Simmons Pro50 Plus 4-12X50 with AO and BDC for my 7mm Mag for $110. It held zero perfect and worked flawlessly for the 10years I had the rifle, 350+ rounds, Months in the mountains, and when I sold it I was still shooting 12oz cans at 300yrds never missing.
Considering that scope was made in Korea in '92 and had for $110, I would think that scopes have came a ways by now and there has to be $150 scopes that are much better. Let me know if my thinking on this is flawed, I do have a Simmons 3.5-10X50 WTC WA scope from the same era. Maybe it is worth more than the $150 I spent on it back then?
I am not too worried about glass, just holding zero and not falling apart. Once I mount and zero this scope it should never need adjusted or touched again.
