I have been going through the meticulous Weatherby barrel break in. I have officially completed the 40 round minimum break in using Hornady American Whitetail 117 Gn Interlocks. I tumbled, resized, trimmed, deburred, cleaned flash holes in anticipation of the day that I get to start making loads. I had been consistently getting Weatherby's sub moa using the cheapest hunting rounds that I could find with the smallest being around .635!!! Today I finally got to send some Berger VLDs down range. Using the once fired Hornady cases, CCI Large Rifle Primers, 48 grains of IMR4350 and 115 grain Berger VLDs my first group was 1/2 moa. As a matter of fact as I increased powder capacity up to 51 grains on max SAAMI OAL rounds, almost all of my groups were 1/2 to 1 moa. I am thoroughly impressed with this $500 rifle.
