For sale is a Weatherby Mark V Fibermark chambered in 340 Weatherby Magnum, made in Japan, with custom touches.
It left Weatherby as a Fibermark with a 26 inch barrel, factory gold leaf in the lettering and Mag-Na-Porting. These Japanese Fibermark rifles had a stock made by McMillan, not the Bell & Carlson stock currently used. I do not know when the stock was painted (before purchase or later in life) but it was already the Dark Forest color when purchased by me a few years ago. A previous owner also took the rifle and hunted with it in Africa.
After I purchased the rifle I had it bedded, free floated, crown recut and had the trigger adjusted to its current 2 pounds 6 ounces. I also had the stock repainted by Bell & Carlson in the same color scheme as it had some scratches and scrapes. Last fall I sighted it in to use on an elk hunt but I ended up using another rifle instead. So, it sits as it did after I had it worked on with only a bit of range time in October 2012.
Examination shows that the stock is excellent (flawless?) with its new paint job. The rifle barrel has two small areas on the right side where it was rubbed, and visible only in the correct light. Floorplate and trigger guard are very good to excellent with only hairline scratches on the plate which are very difficult to see. There is some loss of color on the end of the bolt knob (see photos). I never saw it before taking these pictures today - it can probably be touched up easily.
Rings, bases and Zeiss scope are NOT included in the sale.
Price is $1000 shipped to your FFL.

This is really a beautiful rifle, and if I did not own another 340 I would not even think of selling it.
Please PM me with any questions.
