Hi Len I write technical articles for shooting mags here in Australia I have test data from 4 26" barreled 308's Nd 4 diferent manufactured 7.62 nato ammo showing diferent velocity for diferent barrels of up to 300fps and the slowest in one barrel is the fastest in another and vice versa.
