There are some good LED's out there but you have to know what to look for.

You won't get quality light by shopping for Lumens or efficiency (run time)

The quality of a light source can be measured by how accurately it renders colour. There is metric for this called CRI or colour rendering index.

The sun is 100 / 100 - sunlight renders colours naturally.

Most LED's have a CRI <80

This is a pretty sweet headlamp (note the 93cri diode, and dim red capabilities)

It only weighs 1oz! l am in no way affiliated with nitecore. After beating many a light to death over the years, I just like their products.

...and I still prefer xenon to LED if I do need to melt brush with a beam :D
