I expect to be the happy owner of 8 pounds of N165 soon. Mid-South's supply of N165 was depleted within 1 hour after my order.
I started to use N165 in my 6.5-06 last January when my LGS had a supply. I started out with the loads found in the Hornady & Berger manual but then started working up after looking at the 6.5-.284 Norma loads in the Vihta-Vuori online data for bullets in the 136-144 grain range. So far, 55 grains of N165 and 140 Barnes match burner gives velocities just under 2,900 with no noticeable primer pocket expansion. Real good sub-MOA accuracy, equal to H1000 (favorite) & RL23. I have not tried RL26 (the golden powder).
For my use, Vihta Vuori has N165 data for .243W, 6mm Rem, 6.5-.284(guidance/basis for 6.5-06 data), 7mmX64 (guidance/basis for .280R data), .25-06 (guidance/basis for 6mm-06 data) and .300WM.
