Velocity from 6.5 Creedmoor

Velocity absolutely matters-- as long as you find an accuracy node at that higher velocity.

For a cartridge like the 6.5cm a 150fps increase in velocity over factory loadings can increase my effective range on deer sized game by 150-200 yards (ft/lbs delivered and velocity for expansion).

And it doesn't cause a significant increase in felt recoil or muzzle blast.

I am still working on a recipe but I am getting 2816 out of a Savage 11 LRH with a 26" tube with 143 ELD-X and 42.1gr of H-4350.
SInce it has a 2" factory brake on it the barrel is more like 24"
Initial results are It is super accurate but the ES is too big.
I was wondering if I was too fast as I do want the barrel to last so I am glad to see others in the same neighborhood

I shoot my 6.5 Creed Ruger Predator with ReDumbo and the 143's and average 3153 with an SD of 8. I have it on video for you non-believers..but my pet Sasquatch hid the tape in the year 2055 using his time machine...after a fit of rage because I asked him to stop wearing my wife's hats. Sometimes...Pet Bigfeet are just too sensitive...and now I have to wait 36 years to post video proof...yeah, think I'll have to call BS on 3150. I didn't like my brass at 2800 ....but who knows

Dudes and their monster velocities out of cartridges not designed for that...

I get pretty close to book speeds off Hodgdon reloading site. No surprise there. A dude says his Toyota Camry does 7 seconds in the quarter mile... I say "that's nice". I'm not say'in this guys gun doesn't sling 'em that fast. I'm say'in my gun never will, not do I want it to. If I wanted my 6.5/140's to fly @ 3100, I'd chamber it in a cartridge that does it without breathing heavy.

This was my recent test with reloder 26 and 143eldx. 49gr had slight ejector, and swipe on the case head. 48.5 had very faint ejector. Stock 26" barrel Savage 12.

OK, velocities are all over the chart but sounds like 2800 is a likely stopping point for a short RAR barrel.
I just loaded R26 in my 6.5-284 for the first time. I think I stopped at 54 grains. Groups were great. Didn't have the LabRadar set up so I will have to do that next range session.

My 20" proof is 2610 with factory 143s and 2820 with RL26. My 30 1/2" Bartlien PRS gun is 2840 with factory 140eldm and 3010 with RL26.

My Tikka T3x with 48gr RL 26 and 139 Scenar avg of 2870. Drops confirmed only out to 600 though. Have about 200 Scenars down the barrel and it is amazingly consistent. Glad I got 9 more # of RL26.
