Varget
I have never used Varget powder. Has anyone used this for a 7mm Mag or 30-06 or both? I have heard good and bad on this powder. I am think about using this for both guns. Is there a better powder that I could use? I am also thinking of IMR4350.. Thanks

Varget is excellent powder; one of my favorites. I do not shoot 7mm, but I have used Varget with excellent results in 30.06, 308, 223, and 8mm Mauser.
In 30.06, my favorite load is 50.0 grains of Varget behind a 150 grain bullet. This load produces about 2900 F/S velocity. With a 150 grain Seirra Matchking bullet, it can shoot 1/2 MOA groups from my Winchester Model 70 hunting rifle.
My favorite primer, by far, is Winchester. It is extremely dependable, and enters the primer pockets smoothly with minimal hangups.
I have been reloading for 38 years, and have been using Varget for at least 8 years.
The only downside of Varget is that, being an extruded powder, it does not meter as smoothly as comparable ball powders such as 748, H414, 2230, etc. However, it burns with exceptional consistency, and generally produces excellent accuracy.
I hope this information helps you.
One last pointer: don't trust loading data you get from any unofficial source, including me. Check the above load against the Hodgdon Data Guide.
Best of luck! I would love to hear about your results.
