I'm strongly considering selling my Sako V 7mm STW, but have no idea what would even be a reasonable asking price. I have it topped with a Nikon Titanium 5.5-16x44 AO and would let it go with the dies, brass, and the couple boxes of ammo that I have left. I know what I have into it, but wasn't sure the climate of the market.

Picked it up about 10 years ago for some sheep hunts overseas, and never used it again. Shot some dandy rams with it and since then it's been a safe queen for quite a while.

I guess the place to start is add up what you have in it then decide is it used and value went down are they hard to come by, And the value went up?the rest is up to you.

BBook 2021 edition shows, $1,425 MSR. 100% $1,150, 98%-$900, 95%-$750, 90%-$640,80%-$535 . but, no idea on the Nikon scope's used value. Nice rifle hope that helps, good luck.

I have the TRG-S M995, the hunting version of the TRG-42. it's not SS and has a pencil barrel, .61?. They seem to sell for a little less than the V's. I got interested when I saw a mint one go for $1200, I paid a little more. Seems I see the V's get listed for $1700 or so, but don't recall if they sold. They come up on GB fairly often. This big seven seems to get overlooked. The brass and ammo are pricey also. I purchased way too much brass , $700 ish last year, it just happened. Guy sold his 7mm STW and had a large package of assorted brass and ammo. Nor sure what the V weighs, but my M995 338 lapua is 7#14oz, I would expect the same for the 7mmSTW. All the M995's are built on the same action.

This is some good feedback. I was looking to sell it all as a package (rifle, scope, dies, brass, and remaining ammo) and was hoping to list it for about $2k all in - but maybe that's too steep.

I do have quite a bit of brass, and probly about 2 or 3 boxes of ammo left.

Yep probably $850 for the rifle, $425 scope, $150 ammo and brass, by the time it gets thru FFL work etc anything over $1,500 would be really good. Who knows, might find a Sako fan locally ,that's planning an Elk hunt, that'd be a good setup.

Looks like a Mod 85. They were $1300 about 15 years ago. So $900 now. Nikon is the issue. They quit making scopes. No service. Would not count on getting much for it!
Not so with the Nikon products. They are not producing, but are still completing any and all service/warranty work. I've had both a scope (that I damaged), and binos in since their cease in production without any issues.

One of the things that helps them go up in price, they make a rifle most everyone likes but, they didn't make enough at the time then, 50 years go by, Finnwolf lever .308 was good rig, from Sako.
