The heavy 14 barrels use oversized op rod guide, and the barrel is heavy under the handguard. Any machine shop can turn down op rod journal to the GI op rod guide. The heavy section can be turned down as well. Just leave the handguard clip slots alone, the rest of the barrel from the guide shoulder back are really not critical. What is critical is the gas cylinder area dimensions forward to the muzzle.
You can further reduce the section past op rod guide till almost to the shoulder for the gas cylinder. That long section is not critical.
Here is how my suppressed hunting barrel looks. I machined from a blank. Other than the critical dimensions, I cut the rest to my liking, not to anyone's contour.
