I know this isn't a "longrange" gun but I was hoping maybe someone could give me some insight on it.

I came across it the other day and dont know anything about it

Measure the muzzle to determine caliber then . . .

I want to say it is a Remington Rolling Block in probably a 43 caliber!

Look at the gun in the middle of the web page, looks very similar.

It's a beauty. Looks like a frontier era AR-1. No magazine, should make the cut in the new gun laws. If it's un-registered, all the better.

It's definitely a Remington rolling block, most likely in 45 or 50 cal: Looks like a soldiers rifle (carbine);
