On this forum I've been able to meet some pretty cool people. Oliveralan is one of those guys. This summer we have spent many Saturdays shooting various rifles, developing various loads and acquiring the gear necessary to accomplish all the things we want to be able to do. This Saturday was no exception.

So a typical Saturday for me is to wake at 6:00am (and it's like Christmas...it's easy to get out of bed when it's time to go shooting!). Then load up my gear, cruise over to Oliveralan's place and pick him up and load up his gear.

Here's the gear laid out so you can see most of it....

Oliveralan's rifle box
Oliveralan's bow
Trebark's rifle box
Trebark's muzzleloader box
Oliveralan's field reloading gear.
Trebark's field reloading gear
Two shooting mats
Three tripods (one for the big eyes, one for my chronograph and one for oliveralan's chronograph)
Silver box contains: big eyes, kestrel weather station, walkie-talkies
Steel Plate Target
Saw-horse for steel plate
Two rifle cases containing two rifles and a muzzleloader. Cases sometimes have as many as four rifles total. And from time to time a 44mag pistol comes along (you know, for the zombies that wander onto the range)

Here's the gear laid out.....

Here's the gear in the back of my Acura Integra.... (incredibly, the car gets 31mpg on the highway even when loaded with this much gear)

Normally the distance between the wheel and the fender looks like this...

Loaded with gear, it looks like this....

Believe it or not, there's still a bit of travel left in the suspension.

Also, this is not all the gear that is sometimes taken to the range. From time to time there is another steel plate and set of saw-horses for it.

Not pictured are the two ATVs used to move targets downrange and the EZ-Up canopy.

What do you take to the range? post your pics and lets see your gear!

Also, trebark forgot to mention, this is for a DAY trip. When we go to PA or such, add atleast 2 bags and 2 sleeping bags onto of that! But we have the layout down pretty good and know where everything goes in the car so no space, or suspension, is wasted .

Another good day at the range.

you can almost hear the suspension begging for mercy!

This is what I took to the range one day. It was a great day but we didnt hit much unless GOD willed it so and he must have been in a bad mood. It was fun to so these guys try and aim there rifles.

I wish I lived closer to you guys not many around here share my passion.

You have some ugly friends dude!:D I run with these two and a couple more out here. It's not out of the question for us to drive 4-5 hours to hang out and shoot together.

I don't even flinch at driving five hours anymore!

Long range shooting?? drive five hours to shoot and hang-out with like-minded buddies - I'M IN!

Aim those rifles? I think they subscribe more to the 'spray and pray' method!

Where do you live?

BH,

Yes I did. Jeff is probably putting up the photo right about now. It was the junior f-t/r LR Palma course record. 15 at 800, 15 at 900, 15 at 1000.

Hi guys,

Where do you guys head to shoot? I can peel myself away from the wife and kids once every third Saturday or Sunday or so.

I am in a club and we lease some land South of Catlett. I will check it out, but I think there are a couple areas on the power line that can get out to 600 or so. I'll range those spots in the next week or so just to see what it looks like. It should only be an hour from McClean if driving 4-5 hours is too long...
