I was working up the 145gr barnes LRX in my 7mm-08 (Tikka T3) and also the 168gr TTSX in my 30-06 (Rem 700).

Tikka was perfectly happy to clover leaf them at my max mag length 2.82" (which is 0.12" off the lands), this load I'm further along into and have shot multiple times with it holding very consistently (gun does need about 3 fouler shots after taking it back to clean bore though before it settles in again). Today was a fouling session/scope dialing for antelope that starts next week.

The rem on the other hand was throwing them loose till I stretched out the COAL today to get .05" off the lands (which is what barnes recommends trying if your mag allows) which is 3.462" in my gun (still fits in my blind mag) and shot this clover leaf as well (the other groups set farther back were poor). I'll now focus on this specific load/seating combo to load up again to verify consistency and dial in the scope for it but pleased at the initial results. Potential Nov. elk load...

[Chrono results were jumping a bit more than I typically see in my reloads I think the sun was messing with things today, so pardon those, it was also picking up results from the shadow of someone shooting next to me at times. The LRX load is typically more consistent around 2700fps and the TTSX 2800fps]

Thanks, hope that 30-06 load proves consistent as well. I found it interesting how differently the seating depth factored in between guns, figured its a good reminder to seriously play around with that if not getting good results initially. I was prepared to tweak my tikka bolt stop to long action if needed and get a LA mag but 2.82 shoots great so no need.

I've worked up an awesome 7mm-08 load using Barnes 145 LRX: 42.6 gr of Varget at a CBTO of 2.199 (using one of those Hornady Comparators.) It shoots under 1/2 MOA, especially if I let the barrel cool. Attached pic is 300 yards. I've rung a 12" plate at 500 years in a good cross wind over a dozen times on a morning when none of my buddies could get close. (Edit/add: average Muzzle Vel is 2810 fps using a MagnetoSpeed)

What barrel/brass you running? In testing I ran velocity up to 2850 but blew a primer so I backed off more, had hoped to stick around 2750-2775 range but got great accuracy backed off to 2700 so I ran with it. This is with a 22" barrel.

my 7mm-08 is a Cooper with a 22" bbl. I think Wilson makes their barrels. I'm loading Nosler brass with CCI primers. It really produces some super hot loads. I'm working up a 120 TTSX load over Varget. First time out I did a speed test. See table below with charge weight, MV, and notes (forgive my pre-computer spreadsheet.) Also, except for one round, all these fit into a MOA. Target below is 300 yrds.

Both in powder charge and velocity is appears you are pushing the envelop, tread carefully...

I have a 120gr sierra prohunter load at 2950fps with ~44grs (off memory).

Barnes lists the 120gr TSX at 3025 from a 24" barrel with 44grs varget, the 110TTSX is 46.5gr at 3212. Granted neither are the 120gr TTSX but 47grs behind it still seams super hot as you noted: https://www.barnesbullets.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/7mm-08-Remington.pdf
