I know these arnt dall rams or big horns but these are all we have in New Zealand.
Saxon Merino type sheep been wild in isolated areas on NZ since the 1840s.
all of these rams are over the NZ record book level of 70 douglas score. I havent had mine(the top ram) SCI scored but its horns are well over 30inches round the curls. Nice wee sheep but not a bighorn haha.

Nice looking sheep. Makes a cool and interesting mount. Be a good conversation starter in a den or trophy room. Looks like I'll be hunting NZ next apr/may. Bruce

I am in the process of booking with Peter Chamberlin. My wife is doing a 6 day photo tour. She then suggested that I go on a hunt while she was doing the photo's. Then when we are both done we plan to spend 4-5 days touring and just enjoying your beautiful country. May get to fish a little. All in all I think it will be a nice vacation. Looking at Red Stag and Tahr for my hunting plans. Planning to be there end of April and early May.
Have you been able to do some hunting for animals other than sheep? Bruce

sounds like a awesome trip you have planned. yea I hunt and guide for Tahr,Chamois,Red Stag,Fallow,Sheep and small game. April/May is the best time for Chamois and Tahr as their skins are amazing.
