Thanks Click to expand... The first thing I would recomend is to find an adjustment spec. for the Winchester because if it is set wrong it could be dangerous. DO NOT adjust the sear under any circumstance And if you are not sure have a smith do it for you. With that said: most people prefer 2 to 3 pounds for rough hunting. Lots set theirs below 2 pounds under controled shooting. My preference using the best trigger I can buy is 2.2 pounds (I use Jewells) on most and I set factory triggers at 3 pounds for safety. Jewell makes a fantastic trigger for the Mod 70 Winchester and it is in a housing and comes pre set from them at your desired weight. If it is a Remington they make the best trigger as far as I am concerned. J E CUSTOM
