New post . . . . this rifle is now ships to your favorite FFL.

I have a like-new Tikka T3X stainless hunter with fluted barrel for sale. This one is like-new, only been to the range once, and is full of upgrades! This is the rifle you'll want come this November (but it will be gone!) Long story short, I had big hunting plans myself, but then reality set in. Hoping to give this rifle a new home and hopefully some future hunting action!

Barrel history: I bought a box of "cheap" Fiocchi to break in the barrel. This was done with eight rounds and doing a proper barrel cleaning between each shot. I then compared the accuracy from a box of Nosler ammo with Lapua ammo. A three (3) shot group with the Nosler from a clean, cold bore produced a 1" group. The barrel was then properly cleaned again. Afterwards, a three (3) shot group with the Lapua from a clean, cold bore produced a 0.5" group. And that's the story. Fourteen (14) rounds fired total, and Lapua is the winner. I guess I'm not surprised; Finnish rifle and Finnish ammunition. Go figure. . .

A word on the caliber; as you may know, Tikka actions come in only one length; long action. So I wanted to fill up the action with a long cartridge. Of my choices, it really just came down to the fact that I wanted the superior ballistics of a 6.5mm bullet with a bit lighter recoil than some bigger bore choices (280 Remington or 30-06 Win). That said, in my opinion, 6.5x55 is really the original gangster 6.5mm. The Swedes, Finns, and Norwegians have been killing everything up to and included Moose with this cartridge for well over 100 years. And it's still stands the test of time. So why not!

A word on scope rings; this rifle includes a pair of Talley Lightweight scope mounts. They fit 30mm scopes and are in extra-low height. I know, I thought the same thing, but I had mounted on this rifle a Leupold 3-15x44mm scope, and I still had over an 1/8" of clearance between the objective bell and the barrel. Tikka receivers are apparently taller than most other rifles.

Specifics; this rifle includes the following;

- 12 rounds of Fiocchi, 17 rounds of Nosler, and 57 rounds of Lapua ammunition
